The Sidney Bechet Society, Ltd. was formed in July of 1997. Its charter is to promote the music inspired by Sidney Bechet.

Butch Berman established the Berman Music Foundation in the spring of 1995 in order to protect and promote unique forms of jazz music during Butch's lifetime and into the future. The foundation is located in Lincoln, Nebraska.
